Top Ten (Tuesday) Books I Want Made Into Movies

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that combines lists and books.  This weeks topic is…Books We’d Like To See Made Into Movies.  Covers link to GoodReads

Heist Society – This will make a GREAT movie.  I believe it is set up at one of the major studios and they are planning to age the characters and I think that will make the movie even better… as long as they don’t cast Katherine Heigl.

This will be super cute as a series of movies or as a tv show.

If we can get another Spiderman, we can reboot Harry Potter.  I want them to remake these FOREVER.

Made for TV movie or feature film in the vein of She’s the Man.  I LOVE THIS BOOK.  I think the premise is perfect for a comedy.

I felt the music when I read this book, but I want to hear it.

This just needs to happen.  Seriously.

This would be the best scary movie since The Exorcism of Emily Rose (which is one of my favorite movies).

I would love this as a TV show… the new Veronica Mars.  Love it.

This feels very Princess Diaries to me and I think it would succeed if they could hit that kind of tone for it.

This would be amazing if it were directed by Baz Luhrmann.  Please, movie fairy, please?

  1. Agree about Night Circus … not about HP though! I love the movies, and can’t imagine anything ever replacing the originals!! <3

    My Top Ten Tuesday.

  2. I’d totally go see all of those! :D

  3. Eeeppp!!! Heist Society and The Fault In Our Stars made my list too. Awesome list! :D

    Drop by my Top 10?

  4. You have some great choices there. Totally with you on Heist Society, Anna Dressed in Blood and Revolution.
TFiOS — I’d cry though the whole thing.
And yes, there SO needs to be a new Veronica Mars. I just bought all three seasons on DVD.

  5. I could so get behind a reboot of the Harry Potter films. This time: get it right!

They need to do those like they did LOTR, with a bunch of extra content in an extended edtion, so they don’t have to leave everything out!

  6. Ahh The Night Circus was on my list as well that one would be SO awesome!!! I think HP was perfect and wouldn’t want a reboot but TFIOS sounds like a good pick as well!

    My Top Ten!

  7. I am WAY TOO MUCH OF A WIMP to ever be able to watch Anna in a movie theater! I would have to rent it with the lights on. Also, the Night Circus is the clear winner (it made my list as well).

  8. The Night Circus is just begging to be made into a movie! And Anna would be awesome! And I totally agree with Suite Scarlet, and I’m going out on limb here, but I don’t want HP to ever really end either, so I could totally sit through 7/8 remakes… for the rest of my life.

Did I tell you I got a wand? My fam went to HP World and got me one.

  9. The Night Circus could be so so good. And I would love HP spin offs like from Ginnie or Nevilles perspectives or the parents generation, just more! I need to check out Heist Society.

  10. Great picks!! The Fault in Our Stars has already been optioned so it has a chance of being made. I would love to see it, but that would be one sad movie. I have a special place in my heart for the HP movies, but I do think the first few are kind of bad. Maybe we could get away with remaking those and not the others? Possibly…or JK Rowling just needs to write a spin-off already :)

  11. omg I would LOVE EVERYBODY if Deadly Cool was turned into a TV series! I freaking love those books, and Veronica Mars! great list!

  12. Completely agree with your HP comment! I haven’t read The Night Circus (yet!) but from what I’ve heard about it, it would make a great movie!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  13. Remake Harry Potter? I’m not sure how many people are going to agree with you on that one but I admire your courage for putting that out there!

  14. Heist Society – YES! Like a YA version of Leverage! And I think they should wait a little while to reboot Harry Potter, but I think they should do it!!!! My husband thinks they should make a TV show of it, with one season per book. I’d totally watch that live – screw the DVR!
Oh, and TFiOS has been optioned, in case you didn’t know, so hopefully that adaptation will become a reality! (Although it might not, since some of JG’s other books were optioned and still haven’t been made into movies.) I’ll keep my fingers crossed!
    Great list, Steph!

  15. I really want to read Heist Society now, it sounds awesome!
I agree about Night Circus… Only Lurman could pull it off.
Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier :)

  16. Crap! Now I have come books to look up. ;) I agree with the HP books. And what the heck is up with ANOTHER Spiderman already?!

  17. Some awesome choices here! And I also see some books that I really need to read as well.

  18. I love that I see Anna on so many people’s lists! I agree… it would be SO scary, but so worth it. Plus, Cas would keep it light and sarcastic (as long as they cast it right).

I would also love to see them make The Fault in Our Stars. Though, I’d definitely be walking in with a full box of tissues ready to go.

  19. There are so many of these that I agree with you about. Harry Potter, though – it wouldn’t match up to the original if they did a new version.

I still need to read Anna Dressed In Blood and Deadly Cool – arrgghh!

  20. Revolution was sooo good. And I own Heist Society but haven’t read it yet. Awesome post :)

  21. Yess! Reboot Harry Potter, that would be amazing!

  22. In terms of Harry Potter I personally feel they should have made the movies exactly like the books, down to every scene. I don’t care how many movies it would have taken or how long the movies would have been, I would have watched every single minute, and of course bought them all. I know I can’t be the only one that feels that way.

All your other choices were good too!

  23. I’ve always thought Harry Potter should be an animated series where they could include every scene and not have to worry about the characters aging. It could be BRILLIANT.
