Update

I just wanted to let you know that I am still here, but I will be posting less often.  I love blogging and I love the book blogging community, so I will continue to post 1-2 times a week, but right now I need to focus on a few other things.  I’ll write about them below, if you’re interested.

School-The next three weeks are the busiest of the semester, then in January I begin student teaching.  I’m excited for this part of my life, but I expect finishing my degree in the summer and my first year of teaching to be a little insane, so this reduction in blog time will probably last for at least the next year and a half.

Writing- I’m so excited about my current WIP, but nobody else will ever be excited about it, if I don’t take the time to make it sparkle.

Reading- I will always love reading, but it’s become something else on my to-do list.  I want to reread some old favorites and fall back in love with reading.

Commenting- I want to have time to read all the blogs I love.  There was a time that I was obsessed with posting every day and I did!  But I didn’t have time to be a part of this community and community is important to me.

  1. Geez, you’re already starting student teaching? You really did put the hurry up on the program! How exciting! : ) Your blogging reduction is totally understandable and go you for getting on track and prioritizing. Looking forward to seeing more about this sparkly wip of yours.

  2. Yay for you! Hope NaNoWriMo is going well. It’s kicking my butt. I know you’re going to do great at student teaching next semester. Bet you can’t wait. Keep us posted! Yep, when reading becomes a chore time to shake things up a bit!

    Chat with you soon!

    Steph,

Loved the honesty in this post.

Investing time into your current WIP and reading as well are absolute musts! As someone who’s tried at times to keep the multiple plates of writing my own WIP, reading, and starting up my own regular blog spinning, I found it was dizzying at times (especially since I have a day job as well!), and often the wrong thing would come crashing down (earlier this year I went weeks without writing and also got stuck reading a book that just wasn’t putting me in a creative mindset at all).

So keep going on your WIP, and fall hard back in love with reading. All of us will be so excited to hear about those things when you have a chance to give us a glimpse via the blog.

  4. Wow, that does sound insane. I COMPLETELY understand (as you may know), and I’m glad you’re taking time for yourself. I’m so excited for you and your WIP, are you doing NaNoWriMo this month? I’ve tried being a rebel but I haven’t been good at keeping up with it. Hope all is well with you :) .

  5. Well …you know I’ll just find you even if you aren’t on the blog. Heh-heh-heh…
PS I still want to write that book about my scarf.

  6. That’s cool that you’ll be student teaching soon! But yeah, sounds really busy and hectic! And I’m interested to hear about your WIP!
