One of the books I was really looking forward to was Halo by Alexandra Adornetto. I loved the premise: an angel, sent to earth on a mission from God, threaten’s the success of God’s plan when she falls in love with a mortal boy. Amazing premise, but the execution was lacking.
One of the most famous quotes from Twilight:
About three things I was absolutely positive.
First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.
And from Halo, the first paragraph in chapter 27:
There were two things I was now certain of. First, Jake Thorn knew about us; and second, he was dangerous.
