Sundays in Bed With… is hosted by Kate and Kim, aka Midnight Book Girl, and is a way for us to share about what we’re reading and what’s going on in our lives. This week, I’m reading…
Royal Bastards by Andrew Schvarts. I’m about 25% of the way in and having a hard time putting it down. It’s a full-on fantasy, but the voice and dialog is more what you would expect from urban fantasy. I really love that so far, and already know a few friends, family, and students who will enjoy this book. I’ll definitely be posting more about this closer to release in June.
Speaking of upcoming releases, along with Royal Bastards, I got a few eARCs from NetGalley that I’m really excited to read!
The Takedown by Corrie Wang – I am honestly hoping this one has a cool cyber-punk feel, but even if it doesn’t, this is the kind of story that I always crave.
Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer. Not only does this one sound like the perfect book to make me cry when I need it, but the early reviews I’m hearing are raving about it. I am so unbelievably excited to read this!
Things I Should Have Known by Claire LaZebnik – I really, really love this author. Her books are full of heart and make me feel good without glossing over problems or superficially solving something unsolvable. I’m really curious about her new one. Bonus: it’s set in LA. I think I’m the only one who likes books set in LA, but part of my heart is still there.
In other news… Horizon Zero Dawn finally comes out this week. I have a late night Tuesday, but I should be able to find an hour or two to start the game. At the very least… I know what I’m doing next weekend. I’ll probably spend my time reading reviews until I get my hands on the game itself.
Here’s the trailer:
And on that note… I’m off to read before an early bed time.
