Sundays In Bed With… is hosted by Kate, aka Midnight Book Girl. It is a chance for us to share what we are in bed reading or what we wish we were in bed reading. Today, I’m reading…
I missed These Shallow Graves when it came out, even though it is by one of my favorite authors and is pretty much a perfect book for me. On Friday, I pitched A Northern Light to a student during SSR (Self-Selected Reading) and then started wondering if Donnelly had any more YA books out. I checked immediately and saw this blurb:
Jo Montfort is a gutsy modern heroine in a beguiling tale of old New York. Money, murder, betrayal, and family secrets… I loved spending time in this world!” – Elizabeth Ross, author of William C. Morris Award finalist Belle Epoque.
The emphasis is mine. Four of my favorite things to find in a book. Today, I don’t have a ton of time to read, but I am excited to start. I have a feeling that once I get into this book, it will be difficult to stop.
Other than reading, my plan for today is to work a little and get ready for work. Exciting, yes. For the most part, I find that it is healthier for me to avoid working on the weekends, if I can help it, but the start of school is an intense time and I want to get it right. It will set the tone for the whole year!
For me, prepping my food for the week also helps me be successful during the week. Last weekend, I made a bunch of crock pot freezer meals, so today, all I have to do is dump a bag in the crock pot! I’m hoping these recipes are delicious because this could be a game changer for me! I prepped meals with a friend, which was a ton of fun, and as a result I’ve freed up a few hours each weekend until I need to prep again.
I can’t wait to see what everyone else is up to and reading this week!
