Tune In Tuesday is hosted by Kate’s Tales of of Books and Bands and was created by G Reads. I’ve been meaning to participate in Tune In Tuesday for too long. But September is all about sharing covers and since covers are my favorite, I couldn’t put off participating! Kate actually posted one of my favorite covers today so please check it out: any cover by The Maine is amazing.

I love the original-it is catchy and fun. But this cover came around just when I was starting to get sick of the original and all the sudden it was fun again. (Also Punk Goes Pop is one of my all time favorite series of covers.)
I love Weezer. They are one of my favorite bands and this is one of my favorite covers. But this song sounds good with so many different styles.
YouTube is full of people covering Pumped Up Kicks and it kind of blows my mind that the song sounds great in so many different styles.

Gosh this was such a fun post! I am a HUGE fan of all of the Punk Goes Cd’s! Seriously, when they came out with the Punk Goes Classic Rock, I almost cried. Also, The Pumped Up Kick videos all rocked. Although they were all awesome in different ways, I think the second to last one with all of the different girls singing was my favorite. Cannot wait until next week!

I have to admit, I don’t like “Pumped Up Kicks,” and none of the various covers convinced me to enjoy it. But I agree with you that it spawned an impressive variety of covers! And I did like the transformation of “Call Me Maybe”…the screaming sections were a bit too hardcore for me, but I love the idea of punking up these pop/dance hits!

I love the Punk Goes CDs! They’re so much fun! I haven’t gotten any in ages… maybe I should change that. I like Pumped Up Kicks and it was fun to listen to all the different versions. I think I like the last one the best. Hee hee… it’s kind of fun. Thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by my post, too! 😀
