Looks From Books is a feature where I create (hopefully) wearable fashion sets based on books and book characters. Today I have a look for Cara from Alienated by Melissa Landers (review!). This is her make-the-ex-boyfriend-jealous look.

She’s got a snug black top and short plaid skirt-a combination that has always drawn her ex’s attention. Add in some riding boots and the necklace given to you by the foreign (and I do me foreign) exchange student and we have a look. But because she’s been crying, she needs eyedrops, concealer, and some make up to make her look flawless. One of the things I loved about Cara is that she works hard to fake her confidence even when she doesn’t feel it.
