Top Ten (Tuesday) Books I Read In 2012

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish that combines lists and books. This weeks topic is… Top Ten Books I Read In 2012. As always, covers link to GoodReads.

This was a surprisingly easy list to create. I don’t think it comes as a surprise to anyone that Maggie Stiefvater made my list twice. One thing that all these books have in common though, even the the “fun” ones, is that they were all emotionally resonant. I plan to reread each of these in the futures. 2012 was a fabulous year for books and I think 2013 will be even better.

Did you know I STILL haven’t read Ally Carter’s series?? I’ve read the Heist books but not her spy girl ones… I think I need to get on that!

I realllllly liked the Raven Boys, but I have to say Scorpio Races is on another playing field. What a good set of books!

I think I could have predicted your list

I’m sad that I still haven’t finished Scorpio Races and still haven’t read Raven Boys. I’ve read EVERY SINGLE OTHER book by Maggie. I need more slow, quiet hours in a day!

I also want to check out Shannon Messenger because I’ve been hearing so many wonderful things!

It’s good to hear you loved Where Things Come Back. I just purchased that one not too long ago, knowing nothing about it - it was only $1 so I had to pick it up, obviously. Now I’m really excited to read it!

  5. Steph (Poetry to Prose) says

I loved so many of these too! I really want to read I Hunt Killers soon because I’ve read so many good things about it. I think you were one of the first to bring it to my attention so hopefully I’ll enjoy it as much as you!

  6. Olivia (The Reading Enchantress) says

Great list, Steph! The Fault in Our Stars was amazing, and I really enjoyed Cinder.
I guess it’s time I get a copy of The Scorpio Races

Great list, Steph! I was going to read Scorpio Races this month, but then thought I’d save it for January so that I can start the year with a good read. Raven Boys was definitely one of my favorite reads, so I’m definitely anxious to read the copy of Scorpio Races you gave me!

Your list is pretty much what I expected. Filled with awesome books I have yet to read!
